Évora is a medieval town and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Portugal. It sits in the Alentejo region 130 kilometres east of Lisbon. The town's 14th century city walls house cobbled laneways, columns of a Roman temple (Templo de Diana), roaming peacocks, a cute town square and a chapel full of skulls (Capela dos Ossos).
Évora is one of the most popular day trips from Lisbon and you can get there via car, bus or train.
